This Cookies Policy explains how Al-Ittihad Club Company ("Al-Ittihad", "the Club", "we", "us" or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on the website published at www.ittihadclub.sa (the "Website"), what those technologies do, and how you can control them.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data generally, and with our Terms & Conditions. Where a cookie collects information that identifies you directly or indirectly, that information is personal data and is processed in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its Implementing Regulations.
Summary of key points
- We set no analytics or marketing cookies until you make a choice on our consent banner.
- Strictly necessary cookies remember your language and your cookie choice, and keep you signed in to your account. They cannot be switched off.
- If you accept, we use analytics cookies to understand how the Website is used, and marketing cookies to measure our campaigns.
- Sections 4 to 7 name every cookie we use, who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts.
- You can withdraw your choice at any time by deleting cookies through your browser. The consent banner will then appear again on your next visit.
- Declining does not stop you reading anything on the Website.
1. What cookies are
1.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow the site to recognise your device, remember your choices, and understand how the site is being used.
1.2 A first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by another organisation whose services are used on that website, such as an analytics or advertising provider.
1.3 A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie stays on your device until it expires or you delete it.
1.4 In this Policy, "cookies" also covers similar technologies that store or read information on your device or that track your activity, including:
- pixels and tracking tags — small pieces of code, often invisible, used to record that a page was viewed or an action was taken;
- local storage and session storage — browser storage used to hold preferences and application state;
- software development kits (SDKs) embedded in third-party services;
- device and browser identifiers used to distinguish one visitor from another.
2. Why we use cookies
2.1 We use cookies to:
- make the Website work — for example, to remember whether you are viewing the Arabic or the English version;
- record the cookie choice you make on our consent banner, so that we do not ask you again on every page;
- keep the Website secure and detect misuse;
- measure how the Website is used, so we can improve its content, structure and performance;
- measure the effectiveness of our marketing and, where you have consented, show you Al-Ittihad content and offers on other platforms.
3. Your choices
3.1 When you first visit the Website, a consent banner appears. No analytics or marketing cookies are set before you make a choice.
3.2 If you select "Accept", we set the cookies described in this Policy. If you select "Decline", we set only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the Website to operate.
3.3 You can delete cookies through your browser at any time, as described in section 8. Deleting them removes the record of the choice you made, and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit so you can choose afresh.
3.4 Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before you withdrew it.
3.5 Declining non-essential cookies will not prevent you from accessing the content of the Website. Some features that rely on third-party services may be limited.
4. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Website to function and for us to honour your privacy choices. They cannot be switched off through the consent banner.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent | Al-Ittihad (first party) | Records the cookie choice you made on the consent banner so it is not shown again | 12 months |
| NEXT_LOCALE | Al-Ittihad (first party) | Remembers whether you are viewing the Arabic or the English version of the Website | Session |
| alittihad-session | Al-Ittihad (first party) | Keeps you signed in to your account. It holds an encrypted authentication token together with your account identifier and sign-in details, and is used to refresh your session when the token expires | Your signed-in session |
5. Analytics and performance cookies
These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Website — which pages are read, how people move through the site, and where problems occur. The information is used in aggregate to improve the Website. They are set only after you accept.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics (Google LLC) | Distinguishes one visitor from another so that visits can be counted | Up to 24 months |
| _ga_9BPVXHP0XS | Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) | Maintains session state for the Al-Ittihad analytics property G-9BPVXHP0XS | Up to 24 months |
The Website also loads Google Tag Manager (container GTM-P8G2VXZ4). Google Tag Manager is a tag management tool: it does not itself set cookies, but it controls which of the tags listed in this Policy are loaded.
6. Marketing and advertising cookies
Where you have accepted them, these cookies allow us and our advertising partners to measure the performance of our campaigns and to show you Al-Ittihad content on other platforms. They are set by third parties and may be used to build a profile of your interests.
| Cookie / technology | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _gcl_au | Google Ads (Google LLC) | Measures conversions from Google advertising | Up to 90 days |

| _twpid, _twsid | X Pixel (X Corp.) | Measures campaign performance and supports advertising on X | Up to 13 months |
7. Experience and session-analysis cookies
Where you have accepted them, these cookies record how pages are used — for example which elements are clicked and how far pages are scrolled — so that we can identify usability problems.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _hjSessionUser_* | Hotjar Ltd | Identifies a returning visitor for behavioural analysis | Up to 12 months |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) | Records session behaviour and heatmap data | Up to 12 months |

8. Managing cookies in your browser
8.1 In addition to our consent banner, you can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to see which cookies are stored, delete them, and block them — either altogether or for particular sites.

- Apple Safari — Settings › Safari › Privacy & Security (iOS) or Safari › Settings › Privacy (macOS)
- Microsoft Edge — Settings › Cookies and site permissions
- Mozilla Firefox — Settings › Privacy & Security
8.2 Blocking all cookies will stop parts of the Website from working correctly, including your language preference and the record of your cookie choice.
8.3 To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on published by Google.
