Al-Ittihad Extend Winning Run with Victory Over Al-Fateh

Two Games. Six Points.

Al-Ittihad continued their dominant start to the Saudi Pro League campaign with a 4-2 victory over Al-Fateh at King Abdullah Sports City, earning six points from two games and placing the reigning champions at the top of the table.

Algerian playmaker Houssem Aouar opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a composed finish, but Al-Fateh responded quickly through Matias Vargas. Steven Bergwijn then took control of the match, scoring two goals in quick succession (35’ and 39’) to restore Al-Ittihad’s lead and shift the momentum.

Al-Fateh’s Mourad Batna was sent off just before halftime, giving Al-Ittihad a numerical advantage. However, the game took another turn when goalkeeper Predrag Rajković was shown red in the second half, and Sofiane Bendebka converted a penalty to bring Al-Fateh within one.

In the final minutes, it was Saudi international Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti who stepped up, scoring a late goal in stoppage time to seal the win and calm the nerves of the home fans.

The Tigers now sit confidently atop the table, unbeaten, unshaken, and looking ahead.
