About The Club
Al-Ittihad Club Establishment
Established in 1927, Al-Ittihad is the oldest sports club in Saudi Arabia and a founding pillar of the Kingdom’s sporting landscape. Based in Jeddah, the club was formed to unite athletes and supporters under a single identity and quickly became a symbol of ambition and excellence. Al-Ittihad was the first Saudi club to achieve both local and continental success, leading the way across football and multiple other disciplines. With a history defined by landmark victories, iconic players, and national impact, Al-Ittihad’s legacy is built on a record of firsts and a continued drive to set the standard.

The Start
On December 26, 1927, in a small room near the telegraph station in Jeddah, a group of young men gathered with one purpose: to build something that didn’t exist yet - a team that belonged to the people.
They weren’t businessmen. They had no backing. What they had was conviction. In an era when football was limited to the elite, they believed it should be accessible to everyone. That belief became a club. And that club became a symbol.
They named it Al-Ittihad, "The Union," a name that reflected who they were and what they stood for: unity, purpose, and the power of sport to bring people together.
Founders like Hamza Fitaihi, Abdul Samad Najib Al-Saadi, Ismail Zahran, Ali Yamani, Abdul Aziz Jamil, Abdul Latif Jamil, Abdul Latif Linjawi, and Othman Banaja didn’t just create a team—they lit the spark for a national movement.
This wasn’t the start of a club.
This was the birth of an idea:
That a football club could belong to a city. To the people. To a cause.
And nearly a century later, that idea still lives on.

Club Headquarters
Al-Ittihad’s official headquarters is located in the Al-Safa district of Jeddah, a neighborhood that reflects the club’s character: grounded, community-driven, and deeply local.
This isn’t just a training facility.
It’s a landmark of legacy, where generations of players have risen, thousands of fans have gathered, and defining moments have been written into the club’s story.
From the echo of match prep on the training pitch to the quiet halls where decisions are made, every corner holds a piece of history.
This is where the connection between the city and its club comes alive—not from the outside looking in, but from within.
Al-Ittihad’s headquarters is more than a base of operations.
It’s home for everyone who wears the badge.
